New World Bank representative appointed to JA

The World Bank has appointed a new representative to Jamaica.

He is Giorgio Valentini.

Mr. Valenti, who will be based in Kingston, will also have program responsibilities for Guyana, Suriname as well as Trinidad and Tobago.

In his new role, Mr. Valenti will continue to strengthen relationships between the World Bank and partner countries.

Mr. Valentini, who joined the World Bank in 2002, has worked in Latin America and Africa on state modernisation, health care, judicial reform, public-private partnerships, social protection and fiscal administration.

His most recent position was Country Representative for Guyana.
