There is to be a consolidation of government communications entities with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Office of the Prime Minister and AEROTEL Limited.
The MoU will facilitate the transfer of radio station Kool97FM.
Minister without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Information, Robert Morgan, says details of the transfer are being worked out and has committed to ensuring the proper and transparent transfer of assets and people.
Mr Morgan says space at the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica is being renovated, and procurement is taking place to acquire equipment to totally retool and modernise Kool FM.
It is anticipated that the physical move should be complete by the end of the financial year.
Mr Morgan says the arrangement will not disrupt the current culture of the radio station.
