Hotels operated locally by Playa under the Hilton, Hyatt and Jewel brands generated $34 billion in revenue last year, reflecting a 22 per cent increase over the previous year.
This is in keeping with continuing recovery in the travel market and an overall 17 per cent improvement in tourist visits to Jamaica, amounting to around 4.17 million people in 2023.
The performance of its local hotels ranked Jamaica as the hotel's chain best last year, followed by the Dominican Republic.
It is the third year of growth for Playa's local operations, which grew 85 per cent in 2022, and 40 per cent in 2021.
