Producer prices for mining and quarrying dipped slightly in December

The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) is reporting that although the producer price index for the mining and quarrying industry, which accounts for almost 3% of GDP, dipped by 0.1% in December, this represented an 8.4 per cent increase over the similar period in 2023.
 
STATIN is also reporting that the index for the manufacturing sector, which accounts for 10% of GDP, dipped by 0.6% in December but increased by 0.5% year over year.
