The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has rectified the problem which prevented the release of information on trading activity on Wednesday.
The usual daily afternoon summary which gives details on the stocks which changed hands and the performance of the various indices was not published due to an electrical problem.
This affected the breaker on the system which captures data on trading activity on the Stock Exchange.
Marlene Street Forrest, General Manager of the JSE, said despite the problem trading was not affected.
“Yes we had a problem, not with our trading and settlement platform but an electrical problem, in terms of our breaker,”
“As a result of that it would require that we do the right thing in terms of ensuring that those electrical problems would have been rectified to bring back our trading and settlement platforms into operation, but trading was completed before all of that happened thankfully,” she said.
