Scotia Group Jamaica has officially launched its General Insurance Agency.
Scotia Protect, which offers property, content and automobile insurance services, is only available to the more than 700,000 Scotia Group clients.
Scotia Protect's products will be underwritten by GraceKennedy General Insurance Company.
Gary-Vaughn White, Senior Vice President responsible for Collateral Protection at Scotiabank, will oversee the agency.
He said the operations will be mainly digital.
"We saw an opportunity for a digital platform to provide world class general insurance services for customers, which could be accessed at any time and from anywhere," Mr. White shared.
"It ties right into our customer preferences, because we've seen where over 50 per cent of new Scotiabank deposit accounts are currently opened digitally," he added.
Scotia Protect will also offer the option of interest free installments and online claims.
