Jamaicans spent more money on gambling over the last three months.
This was reflected in increased profit for major player in the gaming industry Supreme Ventures at the end of its July to September quarter.
Earnings after taxes for the three months totaled $426 million, a 36 per cent increase over the same period in 2021.
In the same quarter last year, Supreme Ventures made $312.3 million.
The company's total earnings grew to $12 billion.
That's $1.9 billion, or 18.7 per cent more than the sum earned last year.
Supreme Ventures says its performance was largely influenced by increased lottery sales.
