Deputy Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party Desmond McKenzie has declared that the party will not surrender the country to the People's National Party.
He was responding on Sunday to mounting criticisms about the handling of the country's affairs.
Mr McKenzie also pushed back against the PNP's criticism of the appointment of accountant Dennis Chung as head of the Financial Investigation Division, charging that the opposition party is "playing politics."
He declared that the JLP will not back down in the face of political attacks from the PNP.
Mr McKenzie was speaking Sunday at a political meeting in constituency of St Andrew East Central.
