Since the implementation of the Revenue Administration Information System (RAiS) by Tax Administration of Jamaica (TAJ) a month ago, two thousand consumption tax returns have been filed through the web service.
TAJ says this represents 27 per cent of returns filed on time.
Phase one of the RAiS was successfully implemented by TAJ to expand its e-services.
The system allows taxpayers to file and pay General Consumption Tax, Special Consumption Tax and other taxes via the TAJ portal.
