Jamaica placed third in the world finals of the global drumming competition, the Red Bull Tum Tum Pa in Brazil.
This is a drumming competition from the desk where contestants use pens, pencils, books, bags, scissors, erasers or Red Bull cans to make great beats.
Representatives from 30 countries competed at the world finals but Egypt proved it had the winning beat.
The host country’s team, showed a buzzing drumming performance combined with samba girls and costume, took second place.
Jamaica’s team, the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, which was declared overall winner of the Red Bull Tum Tum Pa national finals in April, also had rhythm in their blood and Bob Marley as music idol.
The quartet, which goes by the name ‘Ground Zero’, said they love drumming and reggae and they were glad the Brazilians like it too!
