Vybz Kartel back in court today

Dancehall artiste,  Adijah Palmer more popularly known as Vybz Kartel, is scheduled to return to court today.

Kartel and two other men, are charged in connection with the July, 2011 murder of 27-year-old businessman and promoter, Barrington Burton, alias 'Bossie'.

All three  were  remanded when they appeared in the Gun Court on January 11.

The other accused are Lenburg McDonald and Nigel Thompson, alias "Badda Dan".

Mr. McDonald, Mr. Thompson, and Kartel are jointly charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, and illegal possession of firearm.

A preliminary enquiry is expected to get underway today.

Kartel was charged on October 3, following investigations by detectives from the Major Investigation Taskforce.

The allegation is that on Monday, July 11, last year, Kartel, along with his co accused, conspired to murder Mr. Burton, of Gregory Park in St Catherine. Investigators say Mr.Burton was shot while standing with friends on Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park.

Kartel was granted bail in this matter on December 1. 

He remains behind bars on other charges.
