112 new COVID-19 cases

There were 112 new cases of the respiratory illness, COVID-19, over the last 24 hours, bringing the total infections to 3,623 since the first case was diagnosed in Jamaica on March 10.

The new cases are in Kingston, St Andrew, Clarendon, St Catherine, St James, Hanover, Portland, St Mary, Trelawny and St Ann.

The mode of transmission of the virus for all 112 cases is under investigation.

There has been no more COVID-19 related death reported during the 24 hours under review. According to the Ministry of Health & Wellness deaths from the virus remain at 40. One death is still being investigated.

There have been 21 more recoveries, pushing that figure to 1,072.

Seven patients are critically ill.
