3 Americans reported missing from cruise, deported

The American family that was last week found hiding in Jamaica after reportedly fleeing the United States has been deported.

Forty-five-year-old Donald Henderson, his wife, forty-three-year-old Maria Henderson and daughter, 21 year-old Aja Henderson were yesterday handed over to US officials.

They were transported from St. Ann to the Sangster International Airport and flown home.

Local investigators sought the assistance of  the International police, INTERPOL, to determine whether they had fled law enforcement in the US.

Head of  the St. Ann Police, Senior Superintendent Carlton Wilson, told RJR News that there was no indication the family was on the run from the law.

The family arrived on a cruise ship in St. Ann on Thursday.

They were later reported missing.

Following a search by the police, the Americans, who are from Virginia, were found on Friday hiding in a villa in Discovery Bay.
