The latest crime statistics show that the country has recorded 50 murders since the start of the new year.
However, this is one less than the number of homicides recorded over the same period last year.
St. Andrew South Division has so far recorded eleven murders, followed by St. Catherine South with 10, and Kingston Western, St. Andrew Central and St. James, all with four recorded homicides.
Some 36 people have been injured in violent incidents since the start of the year.
