New Budget Supplies Hardware on Hagley Park Road in St Andrew was extensively damaged by fire on Friday night.
The fire, which started shortly before 9 o'clock, resulted in an estimated loss of J$700 million.
Emeleo Ebanks, Public Relations Officer for the Jamaica Fire Brigade, told Radio Jamaica News that fire investigators were still at the location trying to identify the cause of the blaze which damaged the warehouse and offices.
He said 56 firefighters were deployed in the effort to extinguish the blaze.
No one was injured.
In an interview with The Gleaner, Robert Dabdoub, the owner of hardware store, said security guards, who were on the property when the fire started, reported that the blaze began in a storeroom.
Mr Dabdoub said the building was not insured, as that process was still underway.
He also disclosed that some of the approximately 50 employees might be out of a job following an assessment.
