As 72-year-old man who pleaded guilty to five counts of rape and two counts of sexual touching of a child was on Friday sentenced to a total 15 years imprisonment.
He was sentenced by Justice Bertram Morrison in the Home Circuit Court to 10 years for rape and five years for sexual touching.
These sentences are to run concurrently, therefore he will serve only 10 years.
The man pleaded guilty last October in the St. Catherine's Circuit Court.
It was recommended that his name be entered on the Sex Offender Registry.
The court heard that in 2021, the elderly man committed sexual crimes against three underage girls who were left in his care.
In February 2022, one of the complainants visited a relative in another parish and related her ordeal.
A report was made to the Linstead police and a probe launched by the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
The man was arrested and subsequently charged with rape and sexual touching of a child.
