Following a one week delay due to construction activities the upgraded Aberdeen High School in St Elizabeth is to reopen on Monday.
Principal George Miller, says the school will begin with 50 grade seven and 20 grade nine students, and two classes of A-Step students.
The school which moves from primary to junior high status, will still be in transition on Monday and will also have a cohort of students from Grades 2 to 6.
However, these groups will be phased out over a 5 year period.
All grade one students who would have enrolled at the facility have been placed at the Siloah, Thornton and Quickstep Primary Schools.
The upgrading of Aberdeen Primary and Junior High to High school status increases the number of secondary schools in St Elizabeth to twelve.
