Accused SSL fraudster Jean-Ann Panton remanded until May 2024

Jean-Ann Panton, the former Stocks and Securities Limited wealth advisor accused of fraud, has been further remanded until May 27, for the continuation of case management hearing.
 
Ms Panton appeared via video conferencing in the Supreme Court on Wednesday morning.
 
Prior to Wednesday's adjournment, the court was told that the prosecution's case in relation to the 21-count indictment, dated February 17, 2023, is complete.
 
Ms Panton's attorney Sylvester Hemmings indicated that he has received disclosure, however, he said it will take him three to four months to assess the documents and take instructions from his client.
 
The matter was subsequently adjourned.
 
The former wealth advisor is accused of removing a total of US$10 million and J$90 million from a number of accounts managed by Stocks and Securities Limited.
