Organisers of Tuesday afternoon's swearing-in ceremony
are busy making last minute preparations ahead of the state function.
Chairman of the organising Committee, Dr. Oswald Harding, says a number of areas were covered by the multi-agency team in order to have a prompt four o'clock start.
"We have the ushers who were briefed on how to handle a large crowd and marshalls to help. We have crowd control, security, parking is in place there; police are dealing with the traffic coming in. The health sector has ambulances here on standby, public lavatories. We are in good shape it's just a question of whether we have good weather," said Mr. Harding.
Several Caribbean Heads of State have confirmed their attendance.
They include CARICOM Chairman and Barbados Prime Minister Owen Arthur as well as Trinidad Prime Minister Patrick Manning.
Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands Dr. Michael Misick and CARICOM Secretary General Edwin Carrington are also expected to attend.
Following Tuesday afternoon's swearing-in ceremony the focus will turn to the appointment of the members of the new Cabinet.
Jamaica Labour Party Spokesman on Information Dwight Nelson said the new team should be in place by Friday.
He said the swearing-in of the Ministers should take place before the end of the week.
Political observers say they expect the Bruce Golding-led Cabinet will be smaller than the one which was led by Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.
