Alorica claims it observed the rules

Business Process Outsourcing company, Alorica, is insisting that it has been complying with orders to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

More than 120 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Jamaica are linked to the Portmore-based call centre.

Alorica, in a press release on Wednesday morning, said it implemented measures early last month, to protect and guide its team members.

The company is therefore claiming that its facilities and operations met and exceeded government requirements.

The company said an inspection conducted by the Ministry of Health & Wellness on April 1 confirmed that its Portmore facility was fit for operation.

It said, after receiving confirmation that one of its employees had tested positive for the coronavirus at its Portmore campus, it voluntarily closed the Kingston branch even though no employee from that location had tested positive.
