The police are investigating an incident in which a Jamaica Defence Force soldier was accidentally shot by a colleague in Crossroads, St. Andrew on Tuesday.
It is reported that about 3:45 p.m., the soldiers were at Union Square when one of them reportedly attempted to clear his weapon and the gun discharged a round.
The bullet reportedly hit his colleague, who is a private, in the leg.
The wounded soldier was taken to Kingston Public Hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
Last week, two JCF members were shot inside the Central Village Police Station when a colleague's gun reportedly fell and discharged.
