A 41-year-old ambulance driver has been taken into custody for questioning following the attempted murder of a nurse at the Spanish Town Infirmary on Monday.
The nurse, who is assigned to the Spanish Town Hospital, is in serious condition.
It's reported that the driver went to the infirmary, where the nurse was on duty, and accused her of being unfaithful.
It is alleged that he threw gasoline on the nurse and attempted to set her on fire.
He then used a sharp object to stab her in the chest and other parts of the body.
Persons at the infirmary went to her assistance and called the police.
The ambulance driver was arrested on the compound.
