Antigua & Barbuda: Gov't set to end quarantine protocols

The Antigua and Barbuda government looks set to end COVID quarantine measures on arrival in the country, citing that the virus no longer poses a significant threat to the public.

The Antigua Observer reported that the country achieved some level of herd immunity early this year after more than 60 per cent of the population became vaccinated.

At last week's post-Cabinet press briefing, Information Minister Melford Nicholas said he had engaged the Health Minister on the issue of getting the public health officials to sign off on a more recent travel advisory.

Mr Nicholas said the Cabinet had taken the view that Antigua could at that stage have dispensed with the whole issue of quarantining at the airport.
