Colgate-Palmolive company, Fabuloso has recalled approximately 5 million bottles of multi-purpose cleaners in the US and Canada due to an increased risk of bacterial contamination.
The company said a preservative was not added at the intended levels during manufacturing.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, people with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions are most vulnerable.
In a statement issued yesterday, the commission said the products were manufactured between December 14 last year and January 23 this year and were sold at a variety of retailers, including Amazon and Walmart.
Some 3.9 million bottles were never released for sale.
