The body of a 10 year old boy was found Thursday morning in a pond in Water Valley, St. Ann.

He has been identified as Rojun Brown, a student of Retirement Primary in St. Ann.

It is reported that he went missing Wednesday after returning from school.

Rojun's father, Leroy Brown, told Radio Jamaica News his son's mother called and told him Rojun could not be found. He said he made a report at the police station and then he, along with the police, began to search for the boy.

When the search was resumed Thursday morning, they found Rojun's body in the pond.

Divers from the Jamaica Defence Force have been called in to remove the body.

Residents of Water Valley are upset that adequate security measures were not in place at the pond, which they say was constructed by Noranda Bauxite Company.

Nadine Fisher, Principal of Retirement Primary, said the school has been shaken by news of Rojun's death.
