Bog Walk gorge reopened

The Bog Walk gorge in St. Catherine has been reopened to vehicular traffic after a little more than four hours of closure.

The gorge was closed to facilitate the removal of a truck that fell off the Flat Bridge and into the Rio Cobre on Tuesday night.

Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen, head of the Highway and Traffic Division, is appealing for caution in the use of the Flat Bridge.

"I want to really use this opportunity to remind the users of the gorge, whether you are driving a large vehicle or a vehicle that is small, that like almost any other roadway, you need to do so with the necessary care and patience. That is going to be a critical factor in determining your safe journey - care, patience, and utilising the experience of driving that you have been taught," he asserted.
