Several vendors at the Brown’s Town Market in St. Ann, whose stalls were destroyed, are calling for the Municipal Corporation to urgently have them replaced or have the affected persons compensated.

The vendors claim their stalls were demolished between Sunday night and early Monday morning by officers attached to the Municipal Corporation despite the fact that their fees have been paid.

Karlene Henry, a vendor who spoke with RJR News, said she is angry by the way the matter is being treated by the Municipal Corporation.

She and other vendors argue that the new area designated for them to sell their goods is not yet ready for occupancy.

They want Mayor Michael Belnavis to intervene in the matter.
