Detectives of the Criminal Investigations Branch in Westmoreland have laid charges against a businessman for the murder of woman in the parish on Sunday.
The victim, Sydonia Martin, died from chop wounds during a dispute.
Dewayne Anglin, 42, of Truro district in Frome, Westmoreland, is accused of the murder.
Investigators say Mr. Anglin and 29-year-old travel agent Sydonia Martin, also of Truro district, had a dispute about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Westmoreland police say Mr. Anglin used a machete to inflict wounds to Ms. Martin's head.
She was taken to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
Mr. Anglin surrendered to the police and was later charged.
