The two people charged in connection with the deadly gun attack on a policeman and his family in St. James were remanded when they appeared in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday.
They are 38-year-old businesswoman Trafficia Malcolm-Demontagnac, otherwise called 'Traff', of Catherine Hall in the parish, and 23-year-old plumber Kadean Nathan of Bethel Town, Westmoreland.
They are charged with murder, wounding with intent, using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit wounding with intent, and conspiracy to use a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.
The two are to return to court on September 4.
The third accused, 24-year-old Orlando Thomas, a carpenter of Argyle Mount in Westmoreland, was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police in St. James on August 13.
The police say Thomas was a member of the Top Junglist/Katan Defence Force Gang, which is primarily involved in contract killings.
Two other members of the gang, including the leader, Andre Reid, were fatally shot during separate police operations two weeks ago.
Thirty-six-year-old Latoya Stephenson of West Village, St. James was killed in the August 9 gun attack, while her spouse, who is a policeman, and their child, are nursing bullet wounds.
Following an investigation, the businesswoman was taken into custody during an operation in Burnt Ground, Ramble, Hanover.
Mr. Nathan surrendered to the police and was charged along with Mrs. Malcolm-Demontagnac.
They reportedly both gave caution statements outlining their involvement in the incident.
