Cash Plus CEO to address investors

Chief Executive Officer of Cash Plus Limited, Carlos Hill, is on Saturday expected to host a meeting for investors in the controversial entity in Mandeville. A similar meeting was held with investors in Kingston last week.

The meeting which is to be held in the town centre, is expected to update investors on the recent controversy surrounding the financial institution and its bankers.

Saturday one investor who formally worked in investment banking at one of the established banks defended the CEO of the embattled investment club.

Cash Plus has received a flurry of media attention since last week when rumours surfaced that the company was in trouble.

This spooked several investors and several of them gathered at Cash Plus offices in New Kingston seeking to secure their funds.

In his first public comments on the rumours, Mr. Hill on Thursday accused established bankers of conspiring to close down his company, in what he claimed was a major class war emerging as a result of its operations.

Mr. Hill maintained that the rumours are the result of a conspiracy by local bankers, who have banded together to take down his investment club which offers clients as much as 10 per cent monthly, a return the banks can only offer yearly.

The president of the Jamaica Banker's Association Patrick Hylton has denied Mr. Hill's claims, explaining that the organization does not dictate operational terms to its members.
