The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on Wednesday withdrew the corruption charge against jailed dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his two co-accused.
The three are accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice in the Clive "Lizard" Williams murder case.
When the matter came up for trial in the Corporate Area Criminal Court, the DPP entered a nolle prosequi, putting a halt to the trial.
The DPP, through one of the prosecutors, explained that she was withdrawing the matter pending the outcome of Kartel's murder appeal. The DPP will decide whether to bring back the case after the appeal.
Kartel, Vanessa Saddler, also known as "Gaza Slim" and studio engineer, Andre Henry otherwise called "Pim Pim", are accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The three were charged in 2011, following an investigation into an alleged plot to deceive the police in their probe of the murder of Williams.
Kartel was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in April for the murder.
