JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang
Educator Delroy Grantson has been selected to represent the Jamaica Labour Party in St. Ann South East in the September 3 general election.
He is expected to be nominated on Tuesday as the candidate following the withdrawal of Dr. Ryan Simpson for breaching quarantine orders.
JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang confirmed Mr. Granston's selection during an interview with Radio Jamaica News, noting that the executive decided he would be "the best person to keep them together and carry on the work of Mr. Simspon."
Mr. Chang added that Mr. Grantson is "well-known, a well established and a well liked person in that area."
Mr. Grantson will challenge the People's National Party's Lisa Hanna in the election.
