Dominica: UWP puts supporters on standby for street protest

The 0pposition United Workers Party in Dominica has put supporters on standby for protest in connection with the issue of electoral reform.

The party refused to participate in the December 6 election that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit called two years ahead of the constitutional deadline.

Party Leader Dr Thompson Fontaine remains adamant that his decision to boycott the polls was the correct one and renewed the call for fresh general elections.

He spoke at a rally in Salisbury on Sunday night.
