Mayor of Mandeville Donovan Mitchell has emerged victorious over Mario Mitchell in the race for chairmanship of the People's National Party's Region Five.
Preliminary results from yesterday's voting show Donovan Mitchell receiving 207 votes, more than double the 98 secured by Mario Mitchell.
Donovan Mitchell is the councillor for the Royal Flat Division, while Mario Mitchell represents the Bellefield Division.
Both divisions are located within the Central Manchester constituency.
