Work is ongoing to prevent flooding along Holland Bamboo Avenue in St. Elizabeth.
Howard Hendricks, National Works Agency (NWA) Community Relations officer for the southern region, says the cleaning of drains along the avenue started three weeks ago.
A collapsed drain has already been replaced.
Motorists are being advised that there will be some inconvenience, while the work is being undertaken.
Meanwhile, work to improve the drainage system in Santa Cruz is more than 75% complete, the NWA said.
