Kerome Wint, the driver of the Subaru motor vehicle involved in a fatal crash in Clarendon last December, is to return to court on January 20.
Two students were killed in the crash on the Bustamante Highway.
Wint is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a road licence, and having no insurance coverage.
During his appearance in the Clarendon Parish Court on Wednesday, the court was told that Wint has requested to change his attorney.
The 34-year-old resident of Mocho in the parish was arrested following the motor vehicle crash which led to the deaths of Jodian Lodge and Richard Tulloh, students of Lennon High.
The students were passengers in Wint's vehicle which collided with a Toyota Probox, a registered public passenger vehicle.
The police say Wint was operating an illegal taxi.
Three other students were injured in the crash. They have since been released from hospital.
It was reported that Wint was attempting to elude personnel from the Transport Authority and a police team, when the crash occurred.
He was captured hours later at Norman Manley International Airport attempting to flee the island.
