The driver of the Suzuki Swift which was involved in Sunday's fatal crash along Holland Bamboo Avenue in St. Elizabeth has been taken into custody.
The driver, whose identity has not been released, is facing the charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that the man is to be interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
About 12:50 Sunday afternoon, a Suzuki Swift was transporting a family from Portmore to a funeral in Westmoreland when the driver reportedly attempted to overtake a line of vehicles.
It's reported that he lost control of the car which slammed into a BMW which was parked at a restaurant.
The impact pushed the BMW into the path of a Toyota Axio, with three persons aboard, but they were not hurt.
The injured occupants of the Suzuki Swift were taken to hospital where 70-year-old Pauline Heaven of Portmore, St. Catherine, was pronounced dead.
It's believed that speeding and a poor road surface caused the crash.
Almost 140 people have been killed in road crashes in Jamaica since the start of the year.
