The thanksgiving service for legendary track and field coach Stephen 'Franno' Francis is underway at Jamaica's National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.
Francis, founder of the MVP Track Club, passed away on July 4, 2026, one day after his 64th birthday.
He is widely regarded as one of the elite coaches in global athletics after guiding athletes to medals in the sprints, hurdles, and field events at numerous Olympics and World championsips.
Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness and Minister of Culture, Minister of Sport Olivia Grange will be among those delivering tributes, honouring Francis as one of Jamaica's nation builders.
