Flash flood warning and watch for most parishes discontinued

By Prince Moore

The Meteorological Service has discontinued the Flash Flood Warning for southeastern and southcentral parishes and the Flash Flood Watch for southwestern and northeastern parishes.

Rainfall data indicated that moderate to heavy showers affected sections of south-central and eastern parishes up to Thursday morning.

Thereafter, partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers prevailed across most parishes.

The analysis of satellite imagery showed that most of the showers and thunderstorms associated with the area of Low Pressure across the southwestern Caribbean remained offshore the south coast of Jamaica on Thursday.

The forecast is for the system to slowly drift northwestward and away from Jamaica.

This should result in partly cloudy conditions on Friday morning.
