Portmore residents demand answers from JPS about frequent voltage fluctuations

Residents of several communities in Portmore, St. Catherine are demanding an explanation from the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) for frequent voltage fluctuations which have been ongoing for months.
 
Radio Jamaica News was informed that the occurrences have increased in the last two weeks which has prompted the residents to seek media attention.
 
The affected communities are within the South East St. Catherine constituency and include Garveymeade, Bridgeport and Waterford.
 
Reports have also come from Gregory Park in East Central St. Catherine.
 
Residents of Garveymeade say the outages have affected productivity for people who work from home and damaged appliances. 
 
Due to the uncertainty about the power supply, the residents have been unplugging their appliances at nights and when they leave home for extended periods.
