Flow restores service to customers affected by act of vandalism

Danielle Savory, Senior Manager of Communications at Flow

Telecommunications company Flow says it has restored services to thousands of customers who lost service on Tuesday after vandals damaged the company's network.

Danielle Savory, Senior Manager of Communications at Flow, gave an update on Wednesday afternoon.

"I'm happy to confirm that approximately 10pm last night we were able to restore services, including internet and cable, the thousands of residential customers and more than 60 businesses that operate in the New Kingston and Half Way Tree area. We're using this opportunity to again appeal to members of the public to be vigilant, to look out for anybody, any suspicious persons that may appear to be tampering with their services, and to give us a call at 922-HELP. That takes you straight to our security operations centre. We work very closely with the police and we'll be sure to have a team out to investigate that report," she urged.

The perpetrators tampered with underground cables in the Corporate Area which provide service for thousands of customers.

The attack on the infrastructure badly affected the operations of several businesses including financial institutions.
