Former drug convict gunned down in Kencot

A music promoter, who served a long sentence in Britain for drug trafficking, was gunned down Friday night at a street dance in Kencot, St, Andrew.

Owen Clarke also known as Roy Fowl or Father Fowl, of a Wavel Avenue address, was shot by two men who rode up on a motorcycle.

The incident occurred about 11:50.

Videos on social media showed the 62 year-old standing beside a Range Rover at the street event. Shortly after the moments shown in the video, he was killed.

No other patron was injured.

In 2004 Clarke was given a 13 year prison sentence in the UK, later slashed to 11, after he made an appeal. He was accused of using the music industry as a front to run a massive drugs empire for many years.

Clarke's hold on the international illegal drug market spanned at least five countries.
