Four men shot and killed allegedly by the police

The Bureau of Special Investigations is investigating the fourth alleged police shooting in an eight hour span.

In the latest incident police say a man who engaged them in a shoot-out on Sunday morning on Lady Huggins Avenue, Kingston 8 was shot and killed.

He has not yet been identified.

According to police reports about 1:20 Sunday morning a team of policemen signaled the driver of a motorcar to stop.

Investigators say after the car stopped, two men ran out and allegedly opened fire at the policemen.

The men reportedly ran.

During a search of the area police say an injured man was found clutching a pistol.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say three men killed on Saturday during an alleged gun battle were identified as escapees from the Horizon Remand Centre in April.
