UCASE President Vincent Morrison

Clerical and administrative employees of the Financial Services Commission are restive.
This follows the delay in settling outstanding wage and fringe benefits negotiations between their union, The Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE), and the commission.
UCASE President Vincent Morrison told Radio Jamaica News that the union has been negotiating with the agency since last year for new wages covering the period 2022 to 2025, but the pace of the negotiations has been "very slow".
He said the union met with the management on Tuesday and contact was made with Ministry of Finance regarding the issue.
"We are awaiting the management to get back to us, certainly either today or tomorrow, so we can know exactly when these negotiations will be settled. I want to say that I found the management quite willing and able, ready to craft an agreement, but as you know the FSC falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance and they will have to await formal instructions from the honourable minister," said Mr. Morrison.
Executive Director of the FSC Lieutenant Colonel Keron Burrell and the FSC's senior executive management team have assured the union that they want a speedy conclusion of the negotiations.
Mr. Morrison said the union wants an answer by the end of the month and warns of industrial unrest if the Finance Ministry continues to delay the process.
