A 49-year-old man, who was fully vaccinated against COVID-19, died at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre in Antigua and Barbuda, almost two months after he was admitted to the health facility.
The patient was admitted on August 14 with severe respiratory distress, requiring immediate critical intervention.
He died on Tuesday following severe post-acute COVID-19 complications.
Antigua and Barbuda has recorded 93 deaths and 3,772 coronavirus cases.
