The future of the Malvern Court House in St. Elizabeth is
yet to be determined by the Ministry of Justice.
The courthouse, which occupied the top floor of the 113-year-old building, was destroyed during Hurricane Dean on August 19.
According to Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Justice, Michael Cohen, the Ministry has made interim plans for the September 4 sitting of the Malvern Resident Magistrates Court to be held in the area which normally houses the Petty Sessions Court.
He also says that police at the Malvern station, who were also dislocated when a section of the wall of the courthouse collapsed, will be asked to vacate the area for the Petty Sessions court.
However, no decision has been made regarding finding a suitable accommodation for the police.
