The Pan American Health Organisation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Geneva-based Global Action Fund for Fungal Infections to combat fungal disease in Latin America and the Caribbean.
PAHO said the MoU will allow them to work together to improve the diagnosis and treatment of fungal diseases.
Under the agreement, PAHO and GAFFI will coordinate the participation of expert professionals and activities at the country and regional levels, provide technical cooperation and expertise for the development of guidelines, and provide training and capacity building for human resources.
