The dancehall entertainment figure credited with creating
the popular "Gully Creepa" dance move has been killed.
David Alexander Smith, popularly known as "Ice" was shot and killed Friday morning at a bar off Waltham Park Road in Kingston.
The dancer who is also a member of the 'Black Roses' crew was among patrons at the bar located on Newark Avenue, when an argument developed.
It's believed that a struggle developed between "Ice" and others when he was shot.
The police believe the motive for the killing was robbery, as the attackers allegedly drove off in the dancer's rental car.
The popular dancehall move "gully creepa" debuted on the world stage in June as the victory dance performed by Usain Bolt when he took the world record in the Olympic 200 metre finals.
"Ice" was slated to perform at the biggest Dancehall show of the year "Sting".
Meantime, another early morning brawl Friday at a bar in White Horses, St. Thomas left two men nursing injuries.
RJR News understands that the incident, which occurred just after one o' clock stemmed from an altercation between a patron at the dance and a soup vendor.
It's alleged that during the altercation the patron used a knife to stab the vendor.
The situation rapidly deteriorated when a man came to the defence of the soup vendor and shot the patron.
The shooter fled the scene and the injured patron and vendor were taken to hospital.
