'I was spared to tell the truth,' says daughter of Keith Clarke

By Racquel Porter

The daughter of slain accountant Keith Clarke said her life was spared to tell the truth.

Britney Clarke is the prosecution's second witness in the trial of three soldiers charged with the 2010 murder.

Ms. Clarke made the statement while responding to Peter Champagnie's suggestion that she is not a truthful witness.

Rejecting the suggestion, Ms. Clarke said: "I am telling the whole truth. God spared my life for me to come here today and tell the truth and I'm here speaking the truth."

Earlier in Monday's proceedings, Ms. Clarke maintained that the eight beer bottles on top of a table captured in crime scene photographs were not there on May 26 when she arrived home or earlier on May 27 when she and her mother was escorted outside their house.

The matter came back up after attorney Peter Champagnie King's Counsel revisited the photograph during cross-examination.

Mr. Champagnie is representing Lance Corporal Odel Buckley.

Lance Corporal Greg Tingling and Private Arnold Henry are also on trial.

Mr. Clarke was killed at his Kirkland Heights home during a police/military operation to apprehend drug lord Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.
