The female ancillary worker at the Black River Hospital who was reportedly attacked and injured by a mentally ill patient on Wednesday morning has been transferred to the Mandeville Regional Hospital.
The woman sustained a broken leg and head injuries during the incident which has left workers at the hospital restive.Reports are that the man attacked the woman with a metal chair in the Accident and Emergency waiting area.
President of the Jamaica Workers Union, Clifton Brown, who represents staff at the hospital says they are upset as there was no security guard present to assist the woman who was rescued by visitors to the hospital
